Meet Serena Wieder, PH.D., who will join us for the National Pediatric Developmental Differences Forum (NPDDF) this fall. Dr. Wieder is the Clinical Director of the Profectum Foundation and past Associate Chair of the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL). She founded and directed the DIR model Institute, a case based competency training program for multidisciplinary professionals, from 1999-2010. She also serves on the Board of Zero to Three – the National Center for Infants, Toddlers and Families. Currently she conducts a clinical and consulting practice in MD and NY for infants, children, adolescent and adults with complex developmental and mental health challenges.
The conference title is “Connecting the Dots: How Research is Guiding the Treatment of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Executive Functioning” and Dr. Wieder will be presenting on the history of the DIR Model, give an overview and explain its relevance in the developmental differences community today.
As a reminder, the dates for the NPDDF will be October 22-24, 2015 and the event will be held at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
