Art Therapy at LEEP Forward gives children a safe, playful space to explore their creativity while building emotional awareness, communication skills, and self-confidence. Our therapists use innovative, play-based approaches to help children express themselves, regulate emotions, and find joy in process of creating.

Kinesthetic & Sensory
Movement and touch
oriented experiences.
Example activites: Splatter painting, finger painting, and tactile collages.

Perceptual & Affective
Encourages self expression and emotional awareness.
Example Activites: Painting feelings, emotion based collages, and clay work.

Cognitive & Symbolic
Supporting planning, problem solving, and deeper self reflection.
Example activities: Mandalas, mask making, and mindful painting.
Creative Flow
Art therapy isn't about the final product, but it is about the process. Children discover new ways to communicate, regulate emotions, and celebrate their creativity. Mediums include paint, clay,
collage, chalk, and even digital media.
Grounding With the Five Senses
Art therapy also integrates mindfulness and grounding activities to help children manage big emotions and connect their environment. Some example activities: Five senses scavenger hunt, cloud watching, yoga for kids, nature walks and breathing exercises.
